This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding that information. 1. Information we collect

Automatically collected technical data. Cookies and similar technologies. The Site uses cookies and similar technologies (such as web beacons and local storage) to operate and improve the Site, to remember your preferences, and to deliver and measure advertising. See Section 3 below for the cookie categories.

Voluntarily submitted information. If you contact us through the Contact page, comment on a post, or subscribe to a future newsletter, we collect the information you choose to submit, such as your name and email address.

2. How we use information

We use the information collected for the following purposes:

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Site;

We do not sell, rent, or trade personally identifying information about you with any third party, except as required to operate the Site, to comply with the law, or as described in Section 3 (third-party advertising).

3. Cookies and third-party advertising

What cookies are. A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your browser. Cookies allow the website to recognise your browser on future visits.

How this Site uses cookies. The Site uses cookies for three purposes:

  • Essential cookies — required for the Site to function (for example, to remember a comment you have just posted).
  • Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics 4 to help us understand which pages readers visit, in aggregate. These cookies do not identify individual readers to us.
  • Advertising cookies — set by Google AdSense and similar third-party advertising programs to deliver and measure relevant ads.

Google AdSense and DoubleClick DART cookie. Google, as a third-party advertising vendor, uses cookies including the DoubleClick DART cookie to serve ads on this Site based on your visits to this and other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting Google’s advertising privacy and terms page at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You can also manage personalised advertising preferences at adssettings.google.com.

Other third-party advertisers. If we begin working with additional third-party advertising networks in the future, those networks may use cookies to measure and serve ads. We will update this policy to list any such networks when they go live on the Site.

How to control cookies. Most browsers let you delete existing cookies and refuse new ones through browser settings. Refusing cookies may affect the functionality of some parts of the Site. Browser-specific instructions are available at aboutcookies.org.

4. Analytics

The Site uses Google Analytics 4 to collect aggregate, non-identifying information about reader behaviour (for example, which pages are popular, how readers find the Site, and how long they stay on each page). Google’s use of this information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

5. Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for an adult audience interested in personal finance, taxation, and macroeconomic education. It is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifying information from any child under 18. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

6. Your rights under the DPDP Act

If you are a Data Principal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • The right to access information about your personal data we have collected;
  • The right to request correction or erasure of your personal data;
  • The right to nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity;
  • The right to grievance redressal.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us through the Contact page. We will respond within a reasonable time as required by law.
